Incoming Material Identification
Before any steel is accepted into our warehouses, our inspectors check it against the order in four steps.
Verify the mill certificate
Every batch arrives with the mill's test certificate. We check the heat number, grade, standard, chemical composition and mechanical properties against the purchase order before the steel is accepted into stock.
Check dimensions and thickness
Our inspectors measure thickness, width, diameter, wall thickness and length with calipers, micrometers and thickness gauges, and compare the results with the tolerance of the ordered standard.
Inspect surface and coating
We look for scale, scratches, rust, edge damage and flatness problems. On galvanized, Galvalume and ZAM products the coating thickness is measured with a coating gauge.
Record, mark and store by batch
Accepted steel is labelled, recorded and stored by batch and heat number, so every piece we ship can be traced back to its mill certificate.
